A wedding is a time for families and friends to come together and celebrate a couples commitment to each other. Its a joining of two families, its a proud moment for parents and grand parents.
As photographers we can often forget this real purpose of a wedding, in the pursuit for photographic art; clever detail shots and arty, moody bride and groom photos. But what are the images that matter?
For me, I have to constantly remember why I am there - what is my purpose as a wedding photographer? This reasoning has led me to my style. For me I believe it is about the people. Its about how the people act and react, how they smile, laugh and cry and about what the families want to remember?
Sure the details are still important and so is the scenery but never at the expense of what truly matters.
